Type of finishing

Mainly three types of finishing
1 Temporary finishing
2 Permanent Finishing
3 Semi-permanent finishing

Temporary finishing

A finishing that is not stable and goes after first washing is known as temporary finishing
If the sophisticated effect in the fabric disappears after washing and using it then it is called temporary finishing

 Such as mechanical - calendering, embossing

            Chemical - starching, softening

Permanent finishing

If the finishing effect does not disappear the fabric and remains unaffected by all conditions of wear and healing, finishing is called permanent finishing.
 Such as mechanical - sonforising, milling of wool

            Chemical - Resin finish, waterproof, flameproof

Semi-temporary finishing

 - Finish cloth semi-lasting finishing is called stabilizing 5 to 10 and not later
   E.g. mechanical - schreiner calendaring

               Chemical - buckram finishing
